The Moon - Taken by Chris J Mitchell

The Moon – Photo: Chris J Mitchell

The moon orbits the earth in just under 28 days (27.32). A celestial object that has inspired many myths and stories 🙂

To name but a tiny fraction of these:

  • The myth of the Werewolf.
  • Mayan Moon Goddesses.
  • The Greek goddess Artemis was the goddess of the Moon.
  • H.G. Wells and his novel The First Men in the Moon.
  • Hergé’s Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon – Tintin becomes the first man to explore the moon
  • Georges Méliès (writer/director) –  Le Voyage dans la Lune (1902)

As well as creative writing, I am also keen on photography and videography and this photo of the moon was taken from my back garden one night with a clear sky and an awe-inspiring moon.
